Intern Housing Facility

Since its inception, the Internship program has exploded in popularity. The program not only supports the North American Bear Center’s core mission of advancing the long-term survival of black bears, but offers hands-on experience to top-achieving college students. We have been fortunate to have been able to provide housing for every intern since the beginning; however, it has been increasingly difficult to find affordable housing that also allows us to have interns here for the time period we would like. To make our intern housing situation easier and work for our needs, the North American Bear Center is planning to build an Intern Housing Facility (facility name to be determined). This is just phase one of our plans for the land we own across from the center. The second phase is to build a standalone office for Dr. Lynn Roger, our founder and chief biologist. The third phase is to build another housing facility for volunteers that travel here to donate their time volunteering at North American Bear Center.  There are also several other possibilities we are considering for the land. Your donation will go a long way to make our plans a reality and help us continue our very successful internship program.

The North American Bear Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and we rely solely on visitor admissions, retail sales, and the generosity of donors and members who believe in our mission. We do not receive any state or federal funding and your donation may be tax deductible.

Thank you for your support.
