  • Behind the Scene Tours

    Immerse yourself in a fun and educational experience that takes you behind the scenes to discover the captivating world of black bears.  Participants will get a close-up view of our resident bears and their naturalistic habitat.  Our knowledgeable guides will share bear facts, stories, interpret behavior, and so much more!  Whether you’re a wildlife enthusiast or new to the outdoors, participants of all ages will surely enjoy this captivating and popular attraction.

    This program goes outside, rain or shine, so please come prepared for the weather.

  • Critter Time

    Join us for an interactive and engaging experience that features our onsite reptiles and amphibians; snakes, turtles, salamanders, and more!  Designed for kids, but fun for the whole family, this program offers participants a chance to observe, learn about, and potentially interact with the small animals that play an essential role in education at the North American Bear Center.

  • Woodland Wonders

    Witness first hand the wonders of the northwoods!  Our “Woodland Wonders” program highlights the diverse wildlife that call northern Minnesota home.  From elusive amphibians to magnificent mammals, participants of all ages will have the opportunity to learn about the incredible biodiversity that surrounds black bears.  This program features tactile opportunities with furs, bones, antlers, and more; you may even get to meet a live amphibian or reptile!

  • Bear Broadcast

    From the comfort of your home, you can step into the hidden world of the black bear.  Broadcasting from our live pond cam, viewers will get an incredible look at our naturalistic 2.5 acre bear enclosure.  Our team will share captivating information, insights, and stories about our resident bears in addition to basic bear biology.  Through live footage, interactive discussions, and special topics, the “Bear Broadcast” offers a unique opportunity to connect with one of the most iconic animals in the northwoods.

  • Wilderness Webcast

    Join us on Facebook as we dive into the fascinatingly diverse Minnesota northwoods.  In this live program, our passionate staff will cover anything from trees to tracks, birds to butterflies, or ferns to fish; the learning possibilities are endless!  Whether you’re a Bear Center regular or curious newcomer, this webcast is sure to inspire, educate, and drive your passion for the wilderness.
