Q: How long have you been volunteering at NABC?

A: I started volunteering in August, 2010.

Q: What motivated you to volunteer at NABC?

A: I heard a TV story about a bear and a live cam around January 12th 2010.  That’s how it started and I became interested in the live cam.  Watching Lily raising Hope really hooked me.  I just saw many people becoming active and doing volunteer work and I wanted to become a part of that effort.

Q: What do you do as a volunteer?

A: I work with teams and groups for various projects.  I am available for whatever I can do to help the NABC continue to be so successful.  Some of the things I do are short term, and others take more time.

Q: Is there one memorable experience you’ve had as a volunteer?

A: I love working with the different people that come to the NABC.  Talking about the bears with folks who are new to this experience is…

Q: What would you like volunteers to know about you?

A: I am a Vietnam veteran.  I recently retired.  I believe so much in Doctor Rogers’ research style as compared to other black bear researchers.
